In full agreement from beginning to end. I recently went to the P!nk concert and since then my five year old daughter and I have been singing to her songs together (and doing very bad choreography). There is an occasional bad word in the music, but it’s pretty infrequent and P!nk’s whole message is one of inclusivity so she’s a great role model for girls/people in general. Anyway, my daughter has had a hard time separating from us at the start of this school year, surprisingly. My husband drives her to school, and said the only thing that helps her is listening to Pink on the way. Some people might be a little judgmental that they pull up to her school singing “So What” at the top of their lungs, but...so what? It distracts my daughter and makes her car ride easier, they aren’t hurting anyone and she’ll remember good memories in the car with her dad rather than fear of going to school. Thanks for posting! 🩷

I smiled as I read this story, especially when you had conversations with his neighbor’s entire family, and when I pictured him sitting on his newly arranged bed enjoying the view. You helped him create a haven that suits him and one that will help him succeed. 👌🏻♥️

„And maybe he’s always known this, or maybe being my kid has taught him that being fearless can be as simple as understanding that just because something is “the way it’s always been,” it doesn’t mean it’s the way it must stay.“

THIS! Plus, knowing how to reverse a change you didn’t ask permission - that’s an invaluable skill to learn.
